SEO
Will it rank?
16 checks on the basics search engines still reward: a title that won't get truncated, a real meta description, a sensible heading structure, keyphrase placement, links, alt text, a clean slug and an indexable page.
WordPress plugin · v1.0.1
SEO GEO Score reads each post and grades it out of 100 twice: for ranking in search, and for getting quoted by AI answer engines. It then tells you the five fixes that would move the numbers most.

SEO
16 checks on the basics search engines still reward: a title that won't get truncated, a real meta description, a sensible heading structure, keyphrase placement, links, alt text, a clean slug and an indexable page.
GEO
Generative Engine Optimization: 14 checks on what makes a page easy for AI answer engines to lift and cite. That means question-style headings, short direct answers, a summary block, concrete numbers, an FAQ, real sources and a credible author.
How the score works
There's no black box. Every check has a weight. A pass earns the full weight, a warning earns half and a fail earns nothing. The score is what you earned as a share of what was possible.
Suggestions are ranked by impact (weight, halved for warnings) across both suites, and the top five are shown tagged SEO or GEO. No keyphrase set? The keyphrase checks show a reminder and the structural checks still produce a meaningful score.
Every check
Bars show each check's weight within its suite. Developers can change any label or weight with a filter.
Inside wp-admin
One screen for the whole site: average SEO and GEO scores, then every post listed weakest-first so you know what to fix next. Analyze all content scores your back catalogue in batches of 15, and scores also refresh whenever a post is saved.
| Post | SEO | GEO |
|---|---|---|
| Our 2019 office move | 31 | 22 |
| Pricing explained | 52 | 38 |
| How to brew cold coffee | 68 | 47 |
| Sourdough starter guide | 80 | 54 |
| What is a pour-over? | 94 | 91 |
Example data
Shows both scores, a focus-keyphrase field, the top suggestions and the full check breakdown with a Re-analyze button. It works in the block editor sidebar and as a classic-editor meta box.
Sortable SEO and GEO columns on the Posts and Pages screens. Sort ascending to see where to start.
If Yoast SEO, Rank Math, SEOPress or All in One SEO is active, it reads that plugin's meta description, focus keyphrase and noindex flag, so you never enter them twice.
Two filters expose the check registries, so you can re-weight checks to suit your editorial priorities.
add_filter( 'seogeo_geo_checks', function ( $checks ) {
$checks['faq_block']['weight'] = 15;
return $checks;
} );
Analysis only
No schema, meta tags or redirects. Nothing is added to the front end. All analysis runs on your own server.

FAQ
Generative Engine Optimization: shaping content so that AI answer engines can understand it, extract it and cite it. In practice that means clear questions with direct answers, scannable chunks, concrete data, real sources and visible authorship.
No. It only reads content and stores scores in post meta. Nothing is added to the front end.
No. Without one, the keyphrase checks are skipped and shown as a reminder, and the structural checks still produce a meaningful score.
No, it sits alongside it. When one of those plugins is active, SEO GEO Score reads its meta description, focus keyphrase and noindex flag instead of asking you again.
In post meta (_seogeo_seo_score, _seogeo_geo_score, _seogeo_analysis), plus the focus keyphrase in _seogeo_keyphrase. Scores refresh when a post is saved or when you click "Re-analyze". Everything is removed on uninstall.
No. Scores are plain post meta and nothing runs on the front end. The site-wide scan runs from your browser in batches of 15 posts. Keep the tab open until it finishes, or let scores fill in as posts are saved.
Yes. Deactivating doesn't change anything. Deleting the plugin removes its option and all _seogeo_* post meta.
